The issue is is that the towns are often so rundown and empty that there’s no real life there and you’re not close to enough sometimes too cities where you could work or do things so unless you want a pretty quiet, isolated life in the small towns these houses often aren’t worth it because they do require you to live in them in some of the one euro houses also, the waitlist are huge.

It’s not the location - Italy is amazing in different ways no matter where you go. The issue is the time period and investment within that time. You could be successful but need longer to do the renovations. Particularly if you are living away and can only commit to a few weeks to come and work on it yourself
