Your last statement about the insurance thing makes no sense … why would the insurance make your rates go up because of stolen cars from your lot ? If you get in a car accident and it’s not your fault your insurance doesn’t go up because it’s not your fault

your math is all over the place, insurance doesn't double because of a claim. There is a sinistrality clause that works as a percentage difference between what you've paid vs what you claimed. As long as that equation yields positive you're in the clear. When it doesn't your premium increases accordingly, it doesn't automatically doubles.

Wouldn’t it of been cheaper to just loose one car for say £15k then pay 25k more next year on insurance for the next 5 years? Thats like £15k vs £100k….
