@omokirikiri: I would like to clarify that when discussing authorisation of exchange value I meant to say becomes a power above humanity in and of itself and not above the exchange relation that wouldn’t make sense lol. But yea capital is not a tool that can be controlled by any state and even the bourgeois are simply the personification of capital and NOT its rules. Please ask any more questions in the comments and I will clarify. #fyp #foryoupage #capital #marxism #theory
I feel like I agree with you on everything except your conclusion. I don’t think the state “restricting” capital is the same as them controlling capital, and likewise just cuz China is not at the end goal of eliminating commodity production and capital as a whole , dosent mean they aren’t socialist. I would need to see proof that China CC has no interest in developing away from capital and further weakening the influence of capital

You correctly state that capital is an anarchic production process. This is because the production of surplus value is its governing logic, which is a consequence of private capitals competing against each other by selling commodities above their individual values but below the social average determined by necessary labour time. This by definition excludes the possibility of a centrally planned economy, since a capitalist economy is dictated by the interests of private capitals in competition. Ernest Mandel makes this point in the introduction to volume I. Now bearing this in mind, how can China’s dominant mode of production be capitalist? China has centrally planned its economy since 1949. Its economy is not anarchic, because profit is not its driving force. It is for this reason that it is a socialist mode of production

Self valorising value. Enforced by a state. You cannot have capital without state. Even as much as capital is its own thing.

Capital flows towards the highest profits which creates the total rate of profit across the economy to establish the price of production that all commodities are sold at.

People are not conditioned by history. Economic conditions shape things but don’t erase human freedom. Also states control capital all the time 😭

Sorry but this is pure fetichism…ure treating capital as a pure essence floating above its concrete forms (the state, money, law, class). But the relation never exists outside its determinate forms… there’s no ‘capital in itself’ acting beyond mediation. That’s exactly how you determine whether a state is capitalist or not: not by asking if it ‘touches’ some pure essence (social relation), but by looking at which concrete forms (money, market, wage labor, appropriation of the social product) are reproduced, destroyed, or replaced

“The essence of bourgeois society consists precisely in this, that a priori there is no conscious social regulation of production. The rational and naturally necessary asserts itself only as a blindly working average.”
