I mean, cubic volumes are volumes. A yard is 3 feet, so a cubic yard of volume is 3' x 3' x 3', A pound is 16 ounces, except in volume, when ounces are measured in fluid ounces, which is volumetric, meaning 16 ounces of lead as weight is 1.35oz of lead as volume, while 16 oz of lead by volume is 189 oz of lead by weight. Degrees mean 0 is cold and 100 is hot for a human, water boils at 212 degrees at sea level and freezes at 32 degrees, and both Celsius and Fahrenheit meet at -40 degrees so we can both agree that's cold. America and about 2 other countries in the world don't use Metric. Just to confuse things further, UK Imperial and US Imperial are not identical.

The US also can’t enlarge a printout to the next size up in a photo copier without changing the aspect ratio - something that just works in the rest of the world (thank you A4 and the rest of the ISO 216 family)
