A seller on Etsy was selling my design as a png for 99cents so I bought it and then gave them a 1 star review and said the image was blurry to tank their sales.

Yes! I create PNGs and seen one of my bestsellers a front and back design copied identical and POD sellers are selling them.. some png sellers tried to change one thing and are selling it.. frustrating.

Does it count as copying if they do the same design but just slightly change the fonts? Can I report those? Or can I only report them copying my exact design in all its original form?

I had a best seller recently where they were literally using my images, but it’s too time consuming to even file with Etsy when I could be fulfilling the orders that made it a bestseller 😭 I just left it

I had people literally steal my art as is and sell it on Etsy.. like the same platform I’m on???? 😭 and they had the audacity to tell me that my artwork isn’t even that good & it didn’t sell when I messaged them

GIRLL I legit have an auto response that I send to sellers who do this. I give them 1 business day and then file it. I have trademarks and when people use that I don’t even reach out I IMMEDIATELY report. I fought for over a year to legally own some of my products and I’ll be damned if these jabroni’s are gonna make a dime off of what I legally own. 🥰 Get em

I had some heinous copycats on my first bestselling 4th of July design (screenshots of my mockups I paid for and everything). I didn’t report for fear of retaliation and other horror stories I’d heard. And then they reported me to pull my listing down! I was able to work with Etsy legal and provide my original design files and dates for posting and they told me to relist. And then someone else reported me on a Saturday and pulled my listing down for 2 full days because Etsy legal isn’t there on the weekends. Whatever with the copycats, but that is egregious and should not be allowed and should not have to wait 48+ hours to relist during the peak of sales.

They’ll take care of it for you on Etsy if they’re American. Overseas thieves will extort you until you’re deepening on fees. I no longer use Etsy at all because of this.
