Actually solar panels on grazing land is brilliant as it provides shade for the animals. It has also proven to be beneficial for other agricultural lands too!! There are very few "bad" places to put solar panels

this is actually a case of both is good, we should want both. solar panels have tangible benefits to natural environments and rural communities while also having tangible benefits to cities and large towns.

I worked on a farm that had an agreement with a solar panel company. the farm kept their herds of sheep there to graze under the panels and manage the grass level. the sheep got lots of shade from the panels and the solar farm got land management. it was mutually beneficial. existing solar farms should consider arrangements like this and new ones should build in parking lots and on rooftops. both can exist!

take from an envisci. solar panels on top of parking lots is good, and so are solar panels in farm fields. but deforestation of any kind should not occur to make room for solar panels. there are many species that thrive in the shade, especially sensitive native plants in the USA
