Take a pictures in your home plus the airport, Air tags in your case pictures of the weight of the case also take pictures of the labels the put on your case if you can cling film your case and color tape the case handles also. If your case looks tampered with don't touch it call an attendant to pick up the case never touch it yourself.

I don’t understand how this switching works. Would you not notice that it is not your suitcase and how would the persons responsible hope to recover the suitcase from you once they have switched the tags? Serious question please.

It's possible. My work place security manager sacked new staffs for stealing money, found out that he had stolen just over £40,000.0 some of that money was from the staffs he had sacked tills.
