Just so you know, your bankers job is to sell loans, not help you make sound financial decisions. I’m glad you didn’t sign right away!

You don’t need a management company, you need a personal assistant!

I would go back to work, getting another loan and going into more debt is CRAZY.

I would say don’t sign with anyone.. just keep track of what you do. You were able to do it on your own before.

Don’t resign with someone??? Why would you give up 20% when you can do it on your own and keep everything??

so sorry you're going through this. hopefully this new company is more honest and follows through on their end of the deal. I imagine it's scary trusting someone again

Do NOT get another management company. Get an employee to help.

I’m glad you decided to take the route of being transparent. It sincerely did feel like your helix videos were promoting some poor financial decisions and I think it shocked many of us. Remember we are here because you were being honest and raw with us. Being unauthentic is noticeable. You got this…it will be ok.

Give yourself grace. Y’all have paid off a lot of debt I’ve had situations in the past where I had to take a new balance transfer out because I couldn’t pay it off by the end of the zero interest period. Do keep in mind with HELOC that the rates can always change. They are typically not locked in. And if you close the HELOC, there’s typically a fee of about $500 and sometimes there are origination cost.

I’m glad you decided against the HELOC. At the end of the day, it’s your decision, but as someone who has been in the mortgage industry for 22 years, I don’t love the idea of leveraging the equity in your home to pay off consumer debt. There are so many other ways to get that debt paid off without risking your home.

So here’s the thing this is why in the UK banks can’t give financial advice these have to be kept separate to protect people from opinions which can be biased (not even intentionally) based on products they want to sell

Please please always remember that a banker nowadays is a glorified sales representative. They’re goal is to sell, not to protect you!

That’s crazy work. I work with an agency, they take 0%. No management though. I do have a few employees. Life is decent with out it.

I know he’s so controversial but I really recommend following the baby steps by Ramsey. Or, at least listening to the podcast to gain some inspiration from people in much worse shoes than yours, that have gotten out through that plan.

The banker makes $ off you taking the HELOC.

if you expect money to be tight for the long run, Heloc is a good option. but if you expect more money to come in, it is better not to pay debt with new debt. (Even though mathematically it might make sense, it creates a bad line of thought as new debt as solution for old one)

I’m glad you were able to leave but wish you felt like you could handle it on your own. You do what’s best for you though!
