@quantumqalb: The Spiritual Law of Abundance: Why Envy Blocks Your Blessings In a world consumed by the endless scroll of other people’s highlights, our eyes easily wander. We look at the wealth, the success, the families, and the seemingly perfect lives of others, allowing a subtle, silent poison to creep into our hearts. But as the venerable Shaykh Al-Sha’rawi RA beautifully reminds us in this translated post, looking at what others have with a heart of resentment is a direct entry point into blocking your own provision. Allah tells us in the Holy Our’an: “And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being maphely] the splendour of the worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.” (Surah Taha, 20:131) When you look at another person’s blessing and feel a tightening in your chest, you are not just looking at them, you are subtly questioning the Qadr (decree) of the One who distributed those blessings. You are telling the Creator that He gave to someone who didn’t deserve it, or withheld from someone who did. The spiritual reality is profound: The universe operates on a divine mirror. As the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “None of you will have faith until he wishes for his brother what he likes for himself.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, 13) When you genuinely rejoice in the joy of another servant of Allah, you align your heart with Divine Will. You signal to the Heavens that you love abundance, mercy, and goodness. In return, the spiritual law dictates that the angels make du’a for you, and that very blessing begins to knock on your door. If you want the blessings of the world to serve you, love them for others first. Cleanse your heart, celebrate their victories, and watch how quickly Allah opens doors you never knew existed. اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّ قُلُوبَنَا مِنَ الْحَسَدِ، وَاجْعَلْنَا نَرْضَى بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لَنَا. “O Allah, cleanse our hearts from envy, and make us content with what You have decreed for us.” #IslamicReminders #rizq #allah #ShaykhAlSharawi
