@fastcompany: As artificial intelligence takes on a growing share of economic output, human workers need to know where they stand. The mission of AI companies is "to replace every form of human economic labor in the economy," tech ethicist Tristan Harris says. For the new Fast Company series "Adventures in AI," Academy Award-winning filmmaker Daniel Kwan and Harris examine how AI companies have created a financial incentive to replace human labor at scale—and what that means for the average person. But who’s going to pay for these AI’s if people don’t have jobs. What are they needed for if people don’t have a normal stable income?

I’d be more concerned about this if AI had proven remotely competent at doing anything but basic tasks. But it can’t even replace customer service agents on the phone.

It won’t happen. Why are we suggesting that AI can even pull this off. It’s a Ponzi scheme.

yes that *could* be a reality, however as long as there is competition I don't see how there could be no need for humans. Companies may be able to replace a lot of current processes with AI and save some money, but then they will need people to know how to improve to AI, etc.
