Set a time for every 30-40 minutes and take them in. Yes it feels like you spend all day in the bathroom but they pick it up quick and will start wanting to go. That’s what I do in my childcare with a small group of them. Some of the parents use m&ms or mini m&ms. They get one if they try, 2 if they pee, 3 if they poop!

Annie didn’t pick it up until we put her potty in the middle of the living room where it’s visible for her when playing. We’ve been fighting her over a year to stop playing and go (and she still uses stall

Try the potty watch. It’s a watch they wear and it goes off and it’s time to use the potty

Hot take: it’s hard no matter the age. And it’s a long process. Does not happen in a few days or even a week. It took my toddler a solid 4-6 weeks of consistency to get it down. We had tried off and on several times before but sticking with it for weeks it finally happened.

You know they’re old enough and they’ve shown interest so I would tell them if they’re not gonna sit on the potty or if they have a couple of accidents you’re gonna put them back in diapers. I bet one would not want to be in diapers unless the other ones in diapers.

We bought a kitchen timer and whenever it went off, he knew it was time to go try. And we got a sticker potty chart from Amazon. One sticker if it went pee, two of he initiated it, and three of he pooped. And once the chart was filled, he got to go pick out a toy at the store. It took a few full potty charts until he was consistent

my daughter didn't want to go when *I* was the one telling her to, so we implemented a timer so that the timer was telling her to go instead of me. It worked great!

I did a sticker chart and then when they got a day of stickers they get a prize from a prize box that I made . I also did this with behavior stuff too but for potty training I would do it specifically for that and get them potty trained and then do the prize box for like chores and good behavior. ☺️

Sticker charts on the bathroom wall. Different themes for each child so their charts look different . Encourage them to sit on the toilet , blow some bubbles as a distraction. Don’t stress !

You need to teach them. You are capable and can do this. If you value the skills so will they.

We did m&m rewards and a timer. The timer makes it a third party telling them they have to go try and not you.

I didn’t have 3 but I had the potty chair where the play takes place so it’s a reminder and they didn’t hate leaving the fun. When one sat on the potty she got to put a silly wig on and she loved that.

My daughter wouldn’t want to go because she didn’t want to stop playing. So I really had to show her that it was okay to stop what she was doing and we would come back when she was done.

My boys were the same way. They would use the potty all day at school and when we got home it was all accidents. I did bribe them with 2 m&ms for peeing on the potty and a hershey kiss for pooping but they had to go and it couldn’t just be a tiny bit. I even tried bribing them with picking out a toy once they were trained and they were whatever about it. They gave me such a hard time. Obviously you can’t force them to use the potty so i started making them change their own clothes when they peed and helping me clean up when they pooped. Eventually they stopped being stubborn and started using the potty all the time. This was also our 2nd go around. My oldest was almost trained at 2 but there was drama at his school and he just stopped.

Instead of asking if they need to go potty say do you want to run to go potty or do you want to hop to the potty. I keep kids in my home and if there is something they have to do, then I give 2 choices instead of asking a yes or no type question. When potty training I try to keep the choices silly and fun. Sometimes I will ask if they want to race me to the potty and the winner gets to go first. Another trick that works for some kids is letting them put a sticker of their favorite character on their undies and then I remind them to keep their sticker dry because if it gets pee or poop on it then we have to throw it away. That one is annoying to me so it’s always a last ditch effort for the super stubborn and strong willed kiddos. The kids I keep are used to timers for transitions from one activity to the next so I let the ones who are potty training pick a ring tone for their potty reminder timer. As soon as they hear it, they get excited and say potty time. We have potty breaks at specific times throughout the day, but I set a reminder timer for in between when I am potty training. When accidents do happen, I have the child help clean up. It’s not a punishment, but it just helps them realize that going potty is much better than cleaning up pee and poop.

In the same boat. I also offered a piece of candy just to get him to sit and that worked well. I prompt him to sit every hour now to get him used to going and he’s been better with cooperating. Now we need to work on him letting me know when he needs to go🫠 also he refuses to poop on the potty lol
