@luannajiang: Me and my bf used to read a lot about the Bosnian War and how horrific it was for civilians. What we didn't expect was to watch SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles get taken over by Bosnians, turning it into something close to their home game. We talked to a few of them. For the Bosnian diaspora scattered across this foreign land, this match was a giant reunion. When this beautiful song, Ljiljani, started playing, we saw some of them in tears. Many were in their 50s and 60s. Most likely came to the States in the 1990s when they were young, fleeing the war. And now here they are, with their American-raised kids, singing this old song. We didn't ask much. But when this song started and the gray-haired ones teared up, you understood — some songs were never just songs. #worldcup #bosnia
