@matiisigns: Before anything else, my thoughts are with everyone involved in today’s incident, along with their families, friends and loved ones. ❤️ One thing I’ve noticed since the news broke is just how quickly misinformation can spread online. Within minutes, people were confidently stating things as fact, sharing rumours, and repeating details that simply haven’t been confirmed. In situations like this, words matter. When a major incident happens, there are real people at the centre of it. Real passengers. Real staff. Real families waiting for updates. The last thing anyone needs is speculation being presented as fact. I’ve seen a lot of people describing this as a head-on collision, despite the railway layout making that appear unlikely based on the information currently available. That doesn’t mean we know exactly what happened, because we don’t. That’s what the official investigation is for. It’s okay to discuss events. It’s okay to ask questions. It’s okay to try and understand what may have happened. What’s not okay is presenting assumptions as facts before the evidence is there. Until then, it’s important that we remain respectful, responsible and careful about what we’re sharing.
