Exactly. I chose myself because I've been in that situation before, and it hurt deeply. Since then, I've learned not to place too much expectations on friendships. They're more acquaintance than friends though I call them friends. I understand where I stand in their live, so I no longer bother myself or feel stressed when they act a certain way.
