@bioncasmith3: Everyday it takes me 2-4 hours to gather, walk, feed and water my rescue dogs at the sanctuary and I absolutely love my job. ❤️ I might not have any days off and I have to balance time wisely to make videos to fundraise and feed all of them but documenting simple moments like this make me happy to severe on purpose. ❤️ On the flip side of things…One of my greatest fears is to run out of money to care for these fur babies or myself. It is so easy to get discouraged, drained and fail trying at this. I’ve been there many times and all it takes is one emergency vet bill to throw things off. We don’t have emergency funds set aside because we’re still a startup under construction investing every dime back into their care and building this shelter. 🚧A daily challenge I wish I could change is the pressure and guilt I feel from not being able to respond to people in my personal and professional life as much as I’d like to so I always pray everyone is understanding. But as long as I can keep everyone fed and vetted, everything else can wait. We use a variety of foods at our sanctuary and the budget has become tighter than usual because funding has slowed down significantly over the last 6-8 weeks perhaps because of back to school spending. Honestly, If it weren’t for our monthly donors, we’d be in pure panic mode and unable to pay our basic expenses. I’m always considering getting a second gig because funding a rescue is an emotional financial roller coaster. Tonight and all week, we are asking for help to stock up with dog food donations if anyone would like to help us feed the sanctuary.
