Even Woody's appearance felt forced, as if they just shoved him into the movie so he could technically be on screen. You could even say he served almost no purpose, since he barely did anything after returning to Bonnie's house. It felt more like the director trying to avoid backlash for not including Woody at all rather than giving him a meaningful role.
