@youandsurrounding: During no contact, one of you breaks down immediately and the other breaks down later. The timing is what destroys you both. Who actually suffers more during no contact, the anxious person or the avoidant? The answer is not what you hope.
As the anxious one, once I get over it I will literally never look back

The avoidant will find someone new to avoid soon enough

yeah so my ex avoidant tried to cut me off but by saying she loved me and would figure things out with me when she feels better (i believe she didn't know how to break up with me without hurting me, newsflash breakups always hurt, just be honest man)
SO she then cut me off for 1 month no contact
i obviously panicked the first week, drowned in deep pain and overthinking/depression for the 3 other weeks.
Then i ended up reaching out, she accepted to see me again
Then we were on and off for about 4-5 months.. until i then found out she was talking to someone else 🙂
then it was a whole journey for me to accept that it was over and to never let myself down again the way i did back then

Therapist here. It’s a childhood wound. At some point in your childhood you felt emotionally abandoned so when you didn’t receive. You have to heal the root cause of it internally by rewiring your core beliefs. Highly recommend reading Healing Isn’t Pretty by Mira Hartson, it's a wonderful book.

as the anxious person, the first few months of no contact are so so difficult, but after some time you get over it completely

As the anxious one I surrounded myself with my friends after I fell into that emotional hole. I started feeling better and focusing on myself. He later would start calling me again and then asked to get back together when I was finally okay.
