Popular doesn’t mean the best, the X-men are consistently written way better than the avengers that’s just a fact, doesn’t mean they are bad at all tho they’re still great. The avengers in event comics (other than civil war 1&2 and XvA) are awesome too, idk why people are saying they weren’t popular or good before the MCU tho that’s a horrific and incorrect take.

1. Avengers were more popular than teen titans before the MCU (90s and 2000s). 2. HULK and CAP( 4th most sold comics btw) were A-tiers superhero before the MCU. 3. Iron man and thor WERE NOT C-tiers before the MCU.
