@rochellekingandrews: Lunging isn’t just about exercise. For us, it’s about looking for relaxation through the back, helping the horse develop the muscles that will eventually carry a rider, and creating a body that can move freely and comfortably. We’re not chasing bigger paces on the lunge. We’re allowing and nurturing relaxation. That focus on relaxation is one of the reasons we’ve been able to develop beautiful paces in horses from young horse classes right through to Grand Prix. When the back starts to swing, the body starts to work correctly. The paces become bigger, more expressive and more rideable as a result. In this video I’m using the Equine Evolution Lunging System to encourage balance, relaxation and correct muscle development without forcing a frame or posture.
