It’s open. The issue is Loyd’s of London are certifying the insurance of the ships slowly and many ships are out of position. Short of some other issues give it a week or so.

Those oil tankers also also pay for insurance.There is a 1 million $ added premium.Because of Trump war,That will continue for months, if not years,On every oil tanker.That will be added to the cost of gas.

You’re absolutely right. Even if both sides agree to open the straight up for business as usual, the oil companies have to know their ships will be safe from mines and potential bombings.
