For those who are having a hard time, understanding how consciousness work when the gang puts on the headsets they had complete copies of their mental consciousness uploaded into the digital circus. At that time they were in sync when the IRL or the original person took their headset off the digital copy then was separated from that consciousness, and then the story unfolds that’s why each time Someone spawns in the circus they first thing they remember is the last thing the irl person was trying to do which was take the headset off only the can’t cuz they r no longer one entity just a copy

My question still is HOW did our main cast get scanned? We can infer how it happened to kinger, pomni probably put it in exploring the abandoned office, Jax was homeless and probably living in the office for a while and put it on at some point; but what about everyone else? How did they get scanned?
