Sorry to be a downer but my daughter ordered a flower wall. It took four months to arrive. My husband had to rig up a heavy duty frame to hold the 100 pound wall. After the wedding my daughter told my hub to keep or sell it. He marketed it actively as a rental or for purchase. Got one bite. Finally sold it for 480.00.

I have 15 flower walls .. ask me how many calls a year we get for them. I’ll give you a hint it’s not a million dollars worth. People will call wanting them but they don’t want to pay for them. Also Kentucky has a ton of outdoor weddings (I’m sure other states do to but can’t speak on them) hardly ever see a rented dance floor. As for box letters that trend is dying down at least locally for us. There will be people who say they make a million dollars but I’ll bet my 50+ acre horse farm in Lexington that less than 5 make that much in most states for all three of those things let alone one of them.

Lol. I have balloons, lighted letters, and a variety of walls including flower walls. What he forgets is insurance, repairs, website, booking time, cc fees, reinvestment, storage space, staff, vehicle to transport and gas etc. GOOD margins are 20-25% when its said and done. Plus it’s 30k upfront to invest in everything you need for box letters alone.

The only hard part is finding a consistent stream of people who are willing to trust you and spend thousands of dollars on a dance floor or wall. Not to mention transportation, setup, buying the materials, marketing, etc

okay you also need to mention that you need a truck. not a pickup truck a box truck in case it rains plus you need help I dance floor takes time to put together and equipment to transfer the dance floor from the truck to the venue. Plus you need storage unless you have room at home. just some things to think about.

I love these ideas and it’s my dream to have affordable rentals for kids parties, adult parties, weddings etc but in NYC… it’s sooo over saturated.

A good idea imo opinion is to learn baking bc you can sell for weddings, birthdays, and also sell at the flea market, plus I don’t think it’s too expensive to buy ingredients. Plus I think learning to decorate cakes would be fun. You would also have to learn marketing. I’m a party princess/party entertainer and work at bday parties
