@pacificadventureclub: Known for its crystal-clear emerald pools, the South Yuba is home to some of the most beautiful swimming holes in the Sierra Nevada. The river's striking emerald color comes from clear snowmelt flowing over pale granite bedrock, creating water so transparent that boulders can often be seen far below the surface. But these swimming holes weren't always places for recreation. During the Gold Rush, thousands of miners worked along the Yuba River searching for fortune.
