Masala Fried Fish🐟🌶️ Some recipes/dishes are more than just recipes. 🤍 This one is a little tribute to my grandparents. I know that this is how most homes make their masala fried fish. Whenever I make or eat masala fried fish, I always think of my grandparents. My grandfather loved buying fresh seafood. He had many friends and family who fished for a living and always knew the best shops to find great seafood. They loved seafood so much that the even opened up a restaurant called Bilmas Fisheries. Fresh seafood was a big part of my childhood, and this masala fried fish was one of the ways my grandparents loved to prepare it. Also the song in this video, “Engey Andha Vennila”, was one of their favourites. 🎶 INGREDIENTS - 500g fish fillets (I used Cape Salmon) - 2 tsp dhania & jeera powder - 2 tbsp Kashmiri masala - ½ tsp turmeric - 1 tsp crushed garlic - 8–10 curry leaves - 4 tbsp olive oil - Juice of 1 lemon - ½ tsp salt - ½ tsp crushed pepper - 125ml water METHOD 1. Mix all the marinade ingredients together. Coat both sides of the fish generously and marinate for 1–2 hours, or overnight in the fridge. 2. Bring to room temperature before frying, then shallow fry over medium heat until golden and cooked through on both sides. I love this with buttered bread! Another way to serve this is with dhal and rice. #masalafriedfish #fishrecipes #fish
