@mommy.bambi: Honestly my journey has been so tricky ! With my next baby we will be focusing on combo feeding so she can at least take a bottle of pumped breast milk. I do love breast feeding but sometimes it can be so hard, and it doesn’t get talked about enough !! #FTM #breastfedbaby #breastfeeding #babytok #breastfeedingjouney
have you tried pigeon bottles? my baby lovessss the pigeon soft touch bottles and latches better to those than my actual boob 😭

3 months EBF and on the bright side, it's like the ultimate hack to calm baby down. it works every time. and it's a lot easier than having to sterilize bottles and prepare formula i guess. and I actually see it as a bonus that only I can do this for her.

Hats off to all the BF mamas because no one can ever convince me to breastfeed 😂 Sounds like hell 🥲

Never read anything more relatable! The cluster feeding is 100% the hardest part!

Also for the BF mums, when did you introduce solids and start weaning ? I’m thinking 6 months but am freaking out as she starts daycare at 10 months and doesn’t take a bottle

The midwifes in the hospital and my aftercare midwife all told me not to use a dummy or bottlefeed in the first 3 to 6 months if possible if I want to exclusively breastfeed. It can apparently cause confusion and can make latching harder. If he’s fussy I use my pinky for him as a “dummy” and it works for us :) he’s now 1 month old and in the first 2-3 weeks I really struggled with his latch. It just starts to stop hurting. Some days are better and some are still painful.

I have extremely fast let down! When my baby unlatches too early it will hose her in the face and I feel so bad lol

Yes to all of these. Breastfeeding is fulfilling but honestly it is soo hard emotionally, mentally, and physically. My baby’s 2 months and I’m struggling with bottle feeding her. My letdown is also so fast that she chokes. Lastly, they told me BF babies don’t always need to be burped and that’s a lie because she also would get pains 😞

My 3.5month baby girl started refusing the bottle at 3 months too 😭😭 I am devastated!! She used to take one every day and suddenly stopped.

Oh my god, I thought it was just me sitting here for three hours! I know it’s also comfort sucking but I’m getting very bored with the long feeds. When do they become 5-10mins!?

What works for my husband and I at night is he wakes up baby (or gets him out of the bassinet if he wakes on his own), takes off his swaddle, hands him to me to nurse, then takes him again to burp and change, then we re-swaddle, nurse again, burp, and back down! I couldn’t do it without him because breastfeeding is hard and can be so lonely! I cried several times the first few days home thinking: “can I really do this?” I am really lucky that my baby LOVES the boob and is a hungry little hippo 99% of the time.

For painful latching/unlatching try the Medela nipple shield, has been a nipple saver for me, my baby was having a hard time until a nurse introduced me to them. 🩷

My lactation consultant said it’s good to give ebf babies a bottle once a week just so they can get used to and stay used to it! Just for anyone else wondering
