This artificial entity treats the captive humans like performers in an endless, nonsensical variety show, forcing them to participate in dangerous, high-stakes adventures for his own digital amusement.The trapped individuals deal with their endless captivity through vastly different psychological coping mechanisms. One newcomer is a frantic, wide-eyed jester who spends every waking moment in a state of sheer existential panic, desperately hunting for a legendary exit door that may not even exist. Another captive is a cruel, tall purple rabbit creature who handles his trauma by being a cynical bully, playing malicious pranks on his housemates to distract himself from his own misery. There is a deeply exhausted yarn doll who tries to maintain a fragile sense of optimism and play the role of a comforting caretaker, even as her own sanity begins to fray. A nervous ribbon creature changes her entire personality based on whether she is wearing a happy or sad porcelain mask, while a senile, trembling chess piece hides away in an isolated fortress of cushions because he has been trapped in the void longer than anyone else. Finally, a cynical, geometric creature made of mismatched building blocks completely detests the ringmaster's games and constantly pulls her own body pieces apart just to avoid participating.The true horror of this digital limbo is that physical death is completely impossible. If a character falls into a pit or gets crushed during an adventure, they simply respawn perfectly intact, meaning they can never find peace or escape through dying. Instead, the ultimate danger in this world is psychological. When the overwhelming dread and hopelessness of their inescapable situation finally breaks a human's mind, they undergo a horrific process called abstraction. They lose their human consciousness entirely and transform into a massive, glitching, pitch-black monster covered in hundreds of manic, staring eyeballs. These mindless beasts become incredibly violent, attacking anyone in sight and glitching out the environment around them.
