This is my truth Not too long ago, my mother had to be admitted into the hospital because she couldn’t breathe. We found out her heart is only working at 35%. Hearing that broke me. It took me back to the time I was in the hospital… when I felt like I had nothing… except her sitting right there by my side, not leaving me, not giving up on me. Now it’s me watching her suffer… and I can’t fix it. On top of everything, we don’t even have a home of our own anymore. My uncle selling the house, and now we’re left trying to figure it out day by day. I live in a wheelchair because of spastic cerebral palsy… and my mom has always been the one lifting me, helping me, being my strength. But now she’s the one who’s weak… and it hurts because I can’t take that weight off her like she did for me. That’s why I’m trying to raise money to build us a home from the ground up… something simple, something safe… something handicap accessible so she doesn’t have to struggle just to take care of me. But what hurts even more… is the people who stayed silent. Family who saw how we were living… who knew we were struggling… who saw the conditions… and said nothing. No help. No support. Just judgment. Just talking behind our backs. Even before the house was fixed up, before it was being sold… we were already struggling there. I even tried to buy it just to keep a roof over our heads… even though I didn’t know how I’d do it. I just didn’t want us to lose everything. And I was told no. Now the same people are telling me to stop posting. Stop speaking up. Stop asking for help. But my answer is simple… No. Because when we needed help, nobody came. So now I’m speaking for us. I’m fighting for my mom. And I’m not going to stop until we have a place to call home.
