i think when we have this conversation we are failing to consider that a lot of afab people have been shaving for a majority of their lives. the hair isnt causing the sensory issues necessarily it’s the regrowth. i think we should all have a little more grace with each other.

can someone explain what sensory issue exist cause of hair just being there, vs sensory issue you get from removing hair like painfull ingrowns, ichy growth, sharp short hair on new growth, cause ive done both and the removing hair gave me sensory issue not leaving it the fuck alone

When I was a kid I begged my mom to let me start shaving because if I wore tights or leggings it would tug ever so slightly on my leg hair and to this day that sensation is deeply overwhelming but I just don’t wear those types of pants now cause I also hate the feeling of my shaved leg hair growing out

I just want people to be honest that they don't feel comfortable stopping shaving cause of vanity rather than making it seem like a medical necessity 💀. Like it's your choice, do what you want but as someone who hasn't shaved in 4+ years these reasons you can't stop shaving make no sense. You're telling me the grown in isn't a sensory nightmare? Thats literally why I stopped. Not shaving doesn't mean you don't maintain. just Trim it when it gets annoying 😭😭.
