My stepdad’s health journey started when everything changed suddenly. He was working as a truck driver, driving an 18-wheeler, when he became disoriented on the road and something wasn’t right. That moment led to everything that followed—his life going from working and providing for our family to facing a serious medical crisis that required brain surgery and later open-heart surgery. It’s been a long road with complications, setbacks, and moments where we didn’t know what tomorrow would look like. Through it all, he has fought hard. There have been hospital stays, recovery struggles, and a lot of unknowns—but also a lot of faith, prayer, and strength we didn’t know we had. Right now, my mom is his full-time caregiver, and because of everything, our family is struggling financially while trying to keep up with bills, their home, and transportation.
