I work for Christiana… I never received a text or a phone call. I have coworkers that did receive a text, but it was two hours after. It took the CEO almost 24 hours to send out an email.

This occurred around 15:15 and Nurses at the Newark location WEREN’T NOTIFIED UNTIL AFER 17:00. I will die on the hill that the biggest flaw Christiana Care has is communication and failing to prioritize safety for staff or patients. (as a former employee I’m so grateful I left)

Christiana Care as a whole is one of the worst hospital systems ever. They have little to no competition so the standards suck the patient care is horrible!! Not because the nurses and Doctors are bad but because everyone is severely overworked and not given proper support to do their job. Plus they just closed the maternity ward in Elkton due to the budget.

Our head doctor sent a teams message to all of our staff saying, “WILMINGTON HOSPITAL - SHELTER IN PLACE”. But yet, every caregiver can get a text, a phone call, AND an email saying joint commission is on campus?!

Worst part is it’s not hard to enter christiana as an employee. You can just follow someone in there’s no one stopping people from coming in. At Newark hospital they do have security at employee entrances but not sure about Wilmy. I’ve forgotten my badge before and followed someone inside
