Now days it’s up to you to do the checks , if the car was fixed to a very good quality/standard the seller did nothing wrong! Spending that type of money you need to do these checks same as the person who came to potentially buy it from you did there’s 🤷🏼♀️

a UK write off is in different categories. Doesn't necessarily mean the car was completely fucked when it was "wrote off". You definitely could have got more for it

It was probably a class 4 write off which would not write it off mechanically or structurally but still would be safe to drive but only worth about a quarter of the price of it wasn’t a class 4 so €4,000 was the right price,that was an awful thing to do to a young girl.

Honestly not scammed, unless there was dodgy fixes or issues, I cant see yhe issue. People repair cars all the time, and if done right its as good as new 😂

it all depends on the category of write off . our car was crashed . was classed as a write off but category c , which ment we were able to fix it and get a engineer's report to say it was road worthy again .

You didn’t pay full price though? You paid below average price for a car of that year and specification, and it was definitely worth more than 4k when you sold it unfortunately. You should’ve kept it but foresight is a great thing. I suppose this is a lesson in buying history checks when you buy a car
