My pastor doesn't take tithes , he said the tenth was for the priests in the temple , Jesus changed all that. New testament book of acts they collected what people were ABLE to offer to make sure that everyone was taken care of. He encourages us to go help people in the community instead of giving tithes to the church, . sometimes we do put in the offering plates that are there on a table but he doesn't actually take up an offering. My pastor owns his own business and the church is debt free and paid off. He doesn't take a paycheck from the church. We are encouraged to go help others in need or give to programs, ministries , missionaries or whatever God puts on our hearts. if someone needs help with rent, groceries, utilities etc help them in whatever way you can. We are the church not the building and we as the church can go and give to help others in our communities.

Facts! When I went to my childhood church for help as an adult. I was fighting suicidal thoughts. I was told I was a bad person, wife and mom. And that god didn't love me. Do you realize that messed me up bc I already felt unloved and unwanted and if God didn't love me what was the point of trying,? Two days later I attempted to kill myself. That was 16 years ago. I now have my own beliefs and I do not agree or honor organized religion.

My last time in church they passed the plate 4 times and had us do the walk around twice , the time before that a different church everyone caught the Holy Ghost 👻 hooting and hollering on cue i just pray 🙏
