@aircraft_engineer_: The Art of Safety Wiring , A True Aircraft Technician’s Signature In aviation maintenance, safety is not only about replacing parts or completing inspections, it’s also about the small details that prevent failures before they happen. One of those critical tasks is Locking Wire (Safety Wire) Installation. This simple-looking wire plays a vital role in preventing nuts, bolts, turnbuckles, and other fasteners from loosening due to vibration and operational loads. A professionally installed locking wire should: ✅ Be routed in the correct direction to oppose loosening. ✅ Have the proper number of twists per inch. ✅ Maintain consistent tension throughout the installation. ✅ Be neatly finished without sharp ends that could cause injury or damage. ✅ Comply with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and regulatory standards. The quality of a technician’s safety wire installation often reflects their attention to detail, workmanship, and commitment to safety. In this video, you can see a locking wire installation performed using professional techniques and industry best practices. * What do you think about this workmanship? * If you are a technician, engineer, inspector, or maintenance professional: * How would you rate this safety wire installation from 1 to 10? * What improvements, if any, would you recommend? Let’s hear your professional opinion in the comments. #Aviation #AircraftMaintenance #AircraftTechnician #AviationSafety #SafetyWire

To many twists and wire is now damaged due to safety wire pliers...It also looks just loose enough where I can pull it over the bolt head.

What's the point of this operation? To me it looks like that those wires doesn't do anything. If those bolts want to drop out, they will, correct?

Is aviation all hourly with very slow deadlines? I it’s extremely complex and safety is necessary but coming from the automotive world and flat rate I can’t even imagine
