I have a theory that since blue AI was so perfect and worked under an artificial approach rather than a learning one such as Cain (the Red AI), removing the blue AI didn't stop making him evil, it just took away some of his power and confusion due to the mix.

When I dove into kinger's interaction with the command prompt I noticed that it mentioned back ups of the ai's and that could be a potential reason for caines survival due to those backup copies he even mentioned that he did die and since he was put onto those backups it would also explain how he needed to resort to other means to get back into the digital circus
