People in the comments are turning this into a “Javier betrayed Arthur and John!” debate, when Javier quite literally went on to betray all of them. He’s only loyal to Dutch because he (realistically) sees him fit enough to grant him the future he wants, then he immediately flees upon the breakdown of the gang. He’s somewhat of a coward deep down, and all of his “loyalty” is rooted in his own desires and wants. You can believe he “betrayed” or “hated” Arthur, but in reality he betrays all of the gang, regardless of if he showed loyalty towards them or not. Dutch, Bill, John, etc were all just obstacles to him in RDR1. Once people don’t fit his goals, he will no longer be loyal - that’s just how Javier is (in very basic terms). I don’t think he hates anyone, I think he is just trying to survive
