Either don’t sign the contract or negotiate a better split price?

Same bullshit goes on with canary seed. They dock you for the kernels with the hulls removed even tho they are gonna get removed in the factory

Jake Schumacher :
Split peas are more of a pain to dehull than whole peas. Typically gotta run them through the huller twice.

Canola cracks and fines same thing. Oil extracted from them as well yet dockage when delivered to line companies.

If it’s graded as feed, it goes straight to Olymiel. Max 1% dockage.

Tell the truth🇨🇦 :
Did you sell them as feed peas to a hog guy or a feed mill or did you sell them as #2 Canada yellow peas to an exporter?

Rotor speed isn’t the only thing to split peas. Every time they go through an auger. Check the percentage of splits in the bottom of a bin compared to the top. Unless one has pea ladders installed

It’s why I cut them completely from my rotation. I may bring them back in the future but there are other options that are more profitable

I don’t think we can ever get that corrected. The system is rigged and that’s all there’s to it. If you got any ideas, I am all ears

You know, technically speaking. Splits are part of dockage. So, you’re not getting shafted Lol
