dentist here ! some of this can be fixed with either ipr or closed with composite bonding. also invisalign and other alligners dont just “give” you black triangles. its just the natural space you’d have if your teeth were straight before.

Hi, I am a periodontist. A big contributing factor is that you have very triangular shaped lower front teeth. One of the biggest predictors for black triangles is the amount of vertical distance between the contact point of your tooth (where it touches the next door tooth, like where floss snaps through) and your bone level. When you have triangular shaped teeth, after aligning them it moves that contact point very close to the biting edge of the tooth, and therefore further away from the bone. If you have any amount of bone loss from periodontal disease, that also increases that distance from the contact point to the level of the bone. So Invisalign didn’t “give” you the triangles necessarily, but when the teeth are crowded together the contact point is much closer to the bone level so you don’t have the vertical space between the bone level for a triangle to form

Invisalign was a terrible experience for me too. It gave me a severe open bite to the point I couldn’t bite down with my back teeth, gave me black triangles, gum recession & they shaved in between my bottom teeth far too much for my liking and they wanted to shave even more until I put my foot down. When I realised Invisalign was shit I changed to lingual braces, best decision I have made. They will tell you to do ipr to fix those black triangles but I would look into bio clear instead of shaving down healthy teeth.

They can use lightning paper and shave down the teeth a little to help make those triangle opening smaller.

Oh no I wear invisaling and Im scared 😭 they failed and change my bite 😭 and my TCM is hurting a lot. Next week they wanna do ipr with the new invisalaings and dont want my littles 🦷 to hurt back again 😭
