Yeah my chronic illness changed me. I work less, I stress less, I sleep more, I know my needs, I can feel my body, I hold strong boundaries, my body tells me everything I need to know, I trust myself. All things my chronic illness demanded of me.

This really resonates with me. I had major surgery a year and a half ago and I learned how to listen to my body, as a separate conscience sharing my body. It really forced me to reevaluate my whole life. It’s kind of like when you get the flu and suddenly its really easy to cancel plans or just not respond without guilt because your body knows that maintaining social norma is not a priority (and it never was)

What the actual hell this is so insightful . My stomach probs get so triggered when I overwork myself for other people even though my stomach and me overworking aren’t related really. Thats crazy. I get treatment for my illness soon but that’s wild to see it as showing me this
