While I do think the hate Jax gets is very well deserved, it also just shows that most people can't handle a complex character like him, he's a very morally gray character. He's been the worst yet he still regrets so many things, he has so much remorse yet whenever given the chance to change he feels like he's already done too much. He's a shitty person he is, but the fact that the gang—ragatha, zooble, pomni, kinger, gangle still tried to help even after he abstracted it just showed that they still had their humanity in them. They were still human and I think that's the point everyone is missing.

Jax was suffering. He didn't know what to expect from people; he felt the world was against him and that everything they did was meant to hurt him. I'm not saying what he did to Ribbit or The others was right. But I can understand it to some extent; the child is quite broken. Ribbit tried to offer him help and reassurance, but he didn't know how to take it, so he distanced himself. I've been in Ribbit's shoes and know how awful it is. I've also experienced not knowing how to express my feelings and i suffer in silence
