It took us 2 years and roughly 25 offers/auctions. The rage I felt when people said ‘it will happen when the right one comes along’. Annoyingly we ended up with the perfect house for us that nobody else seemed to be interested in. Keep on going and try not to let the rage consume you!

not cheap, but if you're in a rush to buy, and you haven't already, I'd recommend looking into a buyer's advocate. we used one, and managed to get our place within 6 weeks, for a price we could afford, and didn't have to have the stress of an auction.
