my friend found out his Dad had done the same when he went to college and randomly in one of his college classes was another student of about the same age with the same unique last name. over the semester they got to talking and discovered they had the same dad.

My uncle had a second family and no one knew til all kids on both sides went to high school.. Then everyone found out.. Crazy thing is all the kids accepted each other and still do to this day..
