I've had this issue loads of times on transits and some rangers, it usually happens just after start up when the engine cold, starts up fine, but cuts out, turns over with what sounds like no compression, quick check of the belt to make sure its ok, then either brake cleaner, jump leads on to get it turning over quicker or if that doesnt work, bump start and its running, hold some revs on and it's all good, the first few times I took the cover off to check timing and it was bang on, suspected lifters might be sticking and holding valves open a little, never confirmed just a hunch as never found out why they do it

could do with some advice please . got a 2019 2 litre bi turbo wildtrak ranger if I don't move it for a week it's a pain in the arse to start . once started runs starts fine drives 💯% any feedback would be greatful please

get loads roadside borewashed may also be the same as transits if cranking voltage drops below 10.5 shuts injectors off

Thw hydrolic valve lifters run dry on the 2.0 engines so if the engine is cranked then the oil pressure reaches the lifters the the vehicle starts

They bore wash same as the transits crank the engine 4 or 5 times for about 2 seconds each time and they start right up usually

if the eco blue engine is left for a while. the oil drains out the cylinder head. it then becomes very difficult to start until it gains oil pressure. sometimes if you drain a couple of litres of oil out the engine and put it back in it can speed the process up. not a nice thing especially if you had recently done a belt or you think a belt might be due cause it does sound like no compression
