@alexandlmarl: In light of everything that’s been in the news recently, we’ve received comments comparing us and our family to people whose actions have made headlines. As two dads who adopted our son, those comparisons are not only unfair, they’re hurtful. The actions of an individual do not represent an entire community. Just as we wouldn’t judge all straight people by the actions of one person, we shouldn’t judge all LGBTQ+ people either. We’re simply parents raising our son with love, stability, and the same hopes every parent has for their child. If this video does anything, I hope it reminds people that families like ours are not headlines or stereotypes.
