i used to do it as a form of courtesy, but to a certain point it becomes very much expected. and i hate that feeling that youre put in a spot where its expected of you, and now youre the one who has to make the uncomfortable conversation about how “if its ok if they can go home on their own”. like you do something nice and now its still you who has to go out of your way again, and be uncomfortable to have to say no. like cant they just not expect to be dropped off all the time? and wait for us to extend the invitation? its just so frustrating

I have no problem picking up and dropping off my best friends but gas prices are not pretty. If you ask? I do expect you to contribute to gas money. If I'm offering, don't even worry about it. The same goes for me if I need a ride.

sometimes it feels like it’s alr been established im the designated driver bc im the only one that actually drives. I love driving yes but sometimes i do need gas money. but i just don’t ask bc it makes me feel like im money hungry or smth. now if someone does take me especially the first few times i will ask if they want gas money bc ik how much i spend in gas to get places and its a shit ton rn bc gas is not cheap atm 💔 i’m just slowly learning to say i can’t do stuff at some point to some ppl i can’t keep draining my tank.

it also pays to be honest to your friends i always let them know, especially with gas prices now, if it’s going to be a consistent thing that i need them to start paying gas money. i love spending time with my friends don’t get me wrong but we’re all adults if you aren’t at least offering then im asking. its okay to speak up for yourself and if they get offended you’re asking then think about what type of friend they are to YOU.
