Assuming I purchase this uncompleted house for the asking price of ₦50 million, I would still need an additional ₦20–30 million to complete it. There are numerous outstanding works, including wall finishes (plastering, screeding, and painting), installation of doors and windows, floor and wall tiling, ceiling works, electrical wiring and fittings, mechanical piping and fittings, as well as external works and fence completion. In the end, the total cost of acquiring and completing the house could range between ₦80 million and ₦100 million. My first question is whether this property is worth buying at that price. Secondly, are there comparable houses within the same area selling for a similar amount? Location plays a significant role in determining the value and suitability of a particular type of house, so the market value of similar properties in the neighborhood should be carefully considered before making a decision.
