Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points Probably one of the more interesting Overseas collections at the moment. Sporty in looks and feel, but presented in a sophisticated package. In this reel, we’re looking at the North reference with a white dial. Reference number - 7930V/210T-H073. The 41mm case, integrated bracelet and folding clasp are all made from titanium, which keeps the watch light while still giving it a tool-watch feel. The contrast between the satin-finished titanium and the matte anthracite-grey bezel, crown and pusher ring is an interesting stylistic choice. The notches around the bezel echo the Maltese Cross, a signature element of the Overseas collection. Vacheron uses three different finishes across the dial — a grained centre, circular satin-finished minute track and lacquered outer track — with snailed sub-counters adding even more texture. The contrasting orange hands draw your attention to the second time zone and AM/PM indication. It’s a small amount of colour that gives the dial extra character without being distracting. The dual-time display is very well integrated, as we know from other references in this branch of the Overseas family. You get local hours and minutes, a second time zone, day/night indication and a date. A lot of information, but without clutter. Everything is organised neatly, and the individual functions are easy to read. Inside - the automatic Calibre 5110 DT/3. 234 components, 37 jewels, runs at 4Hz and offers a 60-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback and, typically for VC, carries the Hallmark of Geneva. At 12.2mm thick and with 150 metres of water resistance, it’s a very usable piece — as it should be for a sports watch. The Overseas line spoils you with three strap options and a quick-swap system, and it’s no different here: the titanium bracelet, plus white and orange rubber straps. So basically, three watches in one. Watch bros math 😉 This collection is a nod to the watch developed for photographer and explorer Cory Richards, including the version field-tested during his 2019 Everest ascent. Everybody wanted one, but only 150 were made. Now you can scratch that itch, even if only a little bit. A sophisticated sports watch from Vacheron, but with a much more adventurous personality, than your typical stainless steel Overseas. Lightweight, capable and a little bit eccentric. Priced at CHF 33.700 (Switzerland). @Vacheron Constantin
