Ngl, i think this scene is intended to be seen as the opposite to your point, maybe Minerva saw Subaru repeating the same mistakes she made while she was alive so she said that speech to prevent Subaru doing the same as her. But then again we don't really have a proper characterisation for most of the witches(at least in the main story) since they only appeared in the tea party like 5 minutes and in their books of the death so i could be wrong.
