This is my 4.5 week post-op update after loose skin removal on my full legs! ☺️ The swelling has gone down a bit, which has brought some texture back into my legs and I’m actually happy with that! I was never aiming for a “perfect” body (whatever that even means anyway). I just wanted to experience life in a body with less loose skin after losing weight. That means I’ll still have some cellulite, texture, bumps, and all the other things that most female bodies have. 🤗 The areas of the incisions that have healed well are looking SO incredible already. The incision lines are tiny and beautiful! Some areas are a little slower to heal and have had superficial wounds during healing (this has happened with all of my surgeries, even while closely following post-op protocol… sometimes it just happens). Thankfully, those areas are improving every day and doing much better now! There’s also some hyperpigmentation and darkening around the incision lines right now, which can be completely normal this early in the healing process. It can also be genetic and more common for certain heritages (Italian here 🙋🏻‍♀️). The good news is that a lot of that can fade over time, and there are also lightening treatments that can help support the healing process if needed. Overall, I’m feeling really good! I don’t think this has been my most difficult surgery, but it’s up there. Mostly because I can tell I’ll still need a few more weeks (if not longer) before I feel fully ready to jump back into my “normal” life. But that’s okay. Patience is part of the process. ☺️ Thank you so much to @modernplasticsurgery — your results, care, precision, and compassion truly blow me away. I’m endlessly grateful for everything you’ve done for me! And thank you to the entire @Advanced Lipedema Treatment team for taking such incredible care of me and checking in on me throughout this journey. 💜 *all surgeries come with risk and everyone has to decide what the best decision is for them!
