We all approach grief differently. How we manage our mental and emotional health in those last moments with a loved one is not up for judgement by others. Monica probably would have thought it was disrespectful for me to laugh (and cry), drink coffee, and eat donuts while my Dad was at the end of his life. He would have wanted us to do live life fully in all moments. We even cracked a laugh out of him during his alert moments. Sending you lots of love ❤️

When my mum was in hospice the staff encouraged our family to do whatever we wanted. Kids running up and down the hallways, dogs chilling and occasionally chasing the hospice cat, celebrating birthdays, having bbq’s, you name it. Those last few months were horrible for us but the hospice staff let us know that grief looks different to everyone and to manage it however we saw fit. Sending so much love to your family at this time ❤️

We do what we do to survive the grief. Everyone grieves differently. For some stranger to come into the comments to make you feel worse than what you already do.. is just next level BS. Those who have been with you are with you ♥️♥️♥️

People grieve in different ways. Just because you wouldn’t do something doesn’t mean it’s the wrong way to grieve.

Give me a break! My grandmother was in a hospice house. It’s so horribly depressing. My mom and aunt told me and my cousins to go out one night and go dancing. Over went to the bar that night and just had a good time. When we left the driver asked where to and we told him. We laughed so hard, he probably thought we had escaped! Yes we came in smiling and giggling but you know what people need a break from sadness! Grandmother passed away that next morning. We think might have pushed her over the limit 😁 But we loved her and she loved us and I’m pretty sure she was smiling the whole time
