I still think they weren't supposed to end up together, the whole show was about Violet grieving and moving on, so it feels like going backwards. Also him as a grown man basically adopting a ~13 year old little girl and loving her ROMANTICALLY?? I can understand Violet falling in love because she was a little girl in serious need of affection, but I guess I always thought there relationship was more father-daughter
